Email from us
- Service email (alerts you set up, the weekly brief for your coverage, receipts and account notices) is part of the service.
- Follow-up email. If you sign up on the subscribe page, we send a confirmation and up to three emails about GAZETA over the following ten days: a welcome, a note on features, and a reminder about the trial. We send these because you asked about GAZETA, and not for longer than Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation allows for an inquiry.
- Unsubscribing. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. It takes effect immediately and stops all further GAZETA email to that address: follow-ups, weekly briefs and alerts. A message you request yourself, such as a free sample brief, is still sent when you ask for it. We keep the address on our do-not-email list so it stays unsubscribed.
Cookies
We use cookies that are needed for signing in and for security, set by Clerk. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages. Page-view statistics are collected with Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
- Account information: while your account is open, and for 12 months after it closes.
- Sample-brief requests and records of the emails we sent you: 24 months.
- Billing records: as long as Canadian tax law requires, generally six years.
- Uploaded documents: until you delete them or close your account.
- Unsubscribed addresses: kept on our do-not-email list for as long as we send email, so we do not contact you again.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to support@gazeta.ca. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca). Residents of the European Union or the United Kingdom can also contact their local data protection authority.
Security
Information is encrypted in transit. Access to the database is restricted to the service and to authorised administrators. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially, we will update the effective date above and tell account holders by email before the change takes effect.
